what makes me happy

Don’t ever again, tell me, life is expensive!

Life is just too expensive to think about “What makes me happy?”? Is that what you’re telling to yourself?

Don’t you dare to even think that! Because Life is not expensive, nor is travelling. Don’t you tell me you are saving time, by using your time to fulfil someone’s dream. Don’t complain about how hard your life is, when you never do anything about it, not to change it, or to improve it. How can one point fingers or even dare to claim someone or something is responsible for the crap in his or her life?

The truth is you are lazy. And this is the moment you all jump from your comfy office chair or sofa and yell “I am not lazy”. I say great, but I don’t need to hear it. Actually, nobody does. Not even you. Words are just words, they fly away as easy as they were spoken. Nobody trusts words anymore.

Bring arguments, prove it with facts. Do something, make a decision and pursuit it. Yes, I’m talking about some action!

Yes, you will tell me how tired you are, because you are always busy. That’s great. Now let me ask you, whose dream are you working on? Is it yours?  Are you happy knowing that you spend your time, day after day, pursuing someone else’s dream? Do you believe in that dream? Or you’re just trading your time for the money?

You are so busy building this vision of the world that some else is having, that you no longer have the energy and the time to pursuit your own. Yes, is harsh, but you made that decision and it has become your life. I’m not here to judge. You might even be happy. I’m just stating the obvious. Just in case you’ve missed it.

Or you cannot even tell if you are happy. You are too drawn in this “reality” you call life, to even notice it.

Try this one thing:

Next time you must do something for yourself and you don’t do it because you have a lot of stuff to do and consequently, you are too busy to handle one more thing, tell yourself “This is not a priority”. And then pay attention to the way you’re feeling about that!

That is you, and your life you put on a second place, on your scale of priorities. Who or what is in the first place? And if the answer is not you, then dude, you have a major issue going on.

You tell yourself and the world you want to be successful. Whatever that means because we all have our different definition of success. For some, it may mean 1 million dollars and a way-too-fast-air-polluting car, while for others can mean a cosy home for their family. And then you go and work for someone else’s success. Still, I have no problem with that, but what really gets me is the way you just don’t see it. Nobody is going to make you do anything, but be aware of what you are doing and how you are spending your life. Because you only get one, so choose wisely.

You tell me you are too busy, and you hire some else to handle those small things which make the life you crave for. Where is the joy in that? Do you even know that happiness is not a destination, but a sum of small moments in which you are at peace with yourself and everybody else?  Or you’ve been too busy to figure that out, too?

Have you ever tried to answer for yourself the question ” What makes me happy?“? What is it? And are due heading towards it? Knowing it and not doing anything about it, makes it as bad as not knowing it in the first place.

It drives me mad to see so much time wasted on crap, with crappy people, that have nothing to offer but wasted time. I find it impossible to understand how come 1 hour spend online, “researching” what others have done lately or in front of a TV, paying attention to some propaganda, is more intriguing and attracts more people than spending the same amount of time, to become better in that which you need to have the life you always think about.

It’s mind-blowing! All that time you waste, consuming the crap others sell you on having that million dollar or that house or that family or that company. And you buy in!

I’m not against consuming the things you need. But be picky, be aware and choose smart.

I am not here to tell you that you are dumb and I am smart. I am here to tell you, live the life you were meant to live. Take the things you need, listen when you have to, read to grow, and let go of the things and people dragging you down. It’s that simple.

But not easy. If it were easy, everybody would do it. But most of us are just damn comfortable.
